Those Were the Days

While on a coffee break, I found this image of my sweet, sweet, oldest daughter, taken a millennium ago. Notice the frilly dress under the Ninja turtle costume? This photo speaks volumes about her personality-- in one hand she often carried a Barbie, and in the other, a GI Joe. And then I blinked and now she's in her second year of college -- in one hand she carries a cell phone, and in the other, an engineering textbook. Sigh. Someone should have warned me about blinking.

Very cute. Yes, I remember the pull between being a girly-girl and being a tomboy. My daughter suffered terrible.

I remember those floor tiles!!! And I love the Brady Bunch Memorial Harvest Gold stove.

She looked precious! We must be about the same age. I had the exact color stove when my son was small.

Boy, isn't that the truth. Blink and they're gone. I think someone warned us but it still happened. Sigh.

Thank you for the waning...I will have to look for these suttle hints (without blinking) when I watch my kids play. Hmmm, "what will they be trying to tell me for their precious future??"

Your daughter was a cutie;-)) I am sure she still is!!

Hugs,

Hi Cathy!
I hadn't forgotten about you, girl!! :) There's been so much going on that I haven't been blogging at all, but I'm trying to catch up now that it is fall. I hope you all are doing okay and didn't have any trouble from TS Fay. That was a soaker! Your little girl is so sweet in her costume ~ I know what you mean about time going by so fast. I blinked and lost about 10 years somewhere in there...LOL! Hope you have a nice holiday weekend!!
Lots of hugs, Bebe :)

My oldest son was nuts about Ninja Turtles! and I totally understand how the "blink" works....my youngest leaves for college this weekend...and I was just telling a co-worker today to enjoy her one-year-old, as you blink and they are grown!

I hope you will accept my nomination for your blog to receive the Primitve Excellence Award! Pick up your award on my blog! Blessings, Sam

Yeah I know what you mean about blinking- I can't believe I dropped off my "baby" last week for her freshman year at college! And just a little while ago, I was looking at photos from this time last year, on the first day of her senior year in high school, and even just one year ago she looked so different.... I think someone did tell me about blinking, but I just didn't believe them.

Oh, but she is adorable!
This picture reminds me of our baby girl (who's now almost 14!)
She sounds just like her!!!
Blessings,
Julie

BTW are those sweat bands on her shins? Too cute!
