7 Wonders of My World

Recently I was given this award by Chris at Designs by CK. WooHoo! Thanks Chris! If you haven't already discovered Chris's artwork, click over and check it out. He does the most wonderful Halloween pen and ink drawings.
Now I'm supposed to write about 7 favorite things. Here is my list which includes things which may or not necessarily be favorites. Some of these are just things that seem to define my life.

1. Denial. (It's the "state" I live in, constantly. Just crown me the Queen. Oh, to live in a world without mirrors or cameras. . . my greatest fantasy. I'm quite certain that's why someone invented Photo-shop.)

2. Chocolate. (The reason for item # 1. . . Size 2, I barely knew you.)

3. Bread. (The other reason for #1.)

4. Glitter. (It's a love/hate relationship. I love to use the stuff, but hate to clean up afterwards. Even the dog gets glittered sometimes, and usually unintentionally.)

5. My kids. (I just love those guys! We love to laugh and laugh and laugh. They also end up getting glittered sometimes, and also usually unintentionally.)

6. Laundry; mountains and mountains of laundry. (The story of my life, and usually a direct result of #5; and, you may have noticed, laundry seems to be a recurring theme here in Tadpole and Teacup-land.)

7. Procrastination. (The other story of my life. And it's the reason #6 continues to grow. )

Now. . . to tag 7 others, but I'll have to do that later. (See item #7.)

I Coulda Been An Attender*

SpookyTimeJingles has been accepted as a vendor in the National Halloween Convention at the Valley Forge Convention Center on April 10-11. The show is in King of Prussia, PA (King of Prussia, PA. . . how cool is that?!) and features all things Halloween. There are tons of booths including handmade artwork, t-shirts, spooky make-up, contests, door prizes, etc, etc, etc. It sounds like such a blast! Sadly I won't be able to travel for this event but if I could squeeze myself inside a USPS Flat Rate box I'd be on my way in a skinny minute. . . {{{insert Brando voice}}} ". . . I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender, I coulda been somebody. . ." So the next best thing--several of my pieces are gearing up for the road trip via Priority Mail.

Many other STJ artists will also be sending their wonderful, one-of-a-kind treasures to the convention; so if you're anywhere near PA, stop over, have a look, and say hey to Dani, the master-mind behind STJ. Tell her Marlon sent you.

Marching into April Giveaway!!

It's Not Rocket Science

Okay, this video posted on Yahoo's main page today. It isn't me, but I swear it could be. The only difference is that I would have been so embarrassed at the 2nd or 3rd attempt that I would have driven off in search of an easier target, say. . . in a cornfield.

Klingon Sword Used in Two Colorado Springs Heists

"A man wielding a "Star Trek Klingon-type sword" robbed two Colorado Springs convenience stores early this morning, police said. The first robbery happened at about 1:55 a.m. at a 7-Eleven at 145 N. Spruce St., Colorado Springs police said in an incident report. The second robbery happened at about 2:20 a.m. at a 7-Eleven store at 2407 N. Union Blvd. Witnesses told police that a man wearing a black mask, black jacket and blue jeans entered the stores carrying a sword. The armed robber took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot from both stores, police said. Officers searched the area but didn't find the robber or the weapon, which was described as a 'bat'leth.'"

Obviously this was not your run-of-the-mill robbery, and I'm not sure what this says about the world we live in. Perhaps it was an actual alien invasion? And if so, why did they target 7-Elevens? In Colorado Springs?? Maybe the economy in outer space is also in the toilet so the Klingons have resorted to pillaging convenience stores here on Earth, namely in Colorado Springs. I'm not an expert in Klingon-lore, and haven't seen Star Trek since I was a kid; but I have to wonder. . . do Klingons even wear jeans?
